Announcements In an effort
to raise matching funds to complete the much needed work on our stained glass
windows, the church is embarking on a major fund raiser called the Governor’s
Rally with the hopes of raising $50,000.00 or more dollars to match funding from
The New York Landmarks Conservancy. The Ingathering will be held on Sunday,
March 30, 2008. NOTICES Auditions for ‘Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters’ will be held on Saturday, February 9th from 1:00 – 3:00 pm for 11 leading roles for male and females, 12 years and older, anyone that can move can audition! Looking for stagehands, set and lighting designers, costume and wardrobe persons. Interested persons please see Terri Strobert or Kim Gardner.Confirmation classes will
begin on Monday, February 4th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm; Inquirer’s Classes
will begin at 7:00 pm. Travelers, join us on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 1:30 pm for a multimedia presentation on South Africa (February 2009) by Collette Vacations. If you have additional questions, please see Marie Callender. Sunday, February 10th is Episcopal Relief and Development Sunday. A second collection will be taken to go towards the Episcopal Relief and Development Fund for the Millennium Development Goals set by the General Convention.Monday, February 11th at 10:00 a.m. is our next Dean’s meeting at St. George’s and is open to anyone who would like to attend. Please attend. The Rector and four other persons will be leaving for the Diocese of Sekondi, in the Providence of Ghana on either February 12th in order to be installed as an Honorary Canon of the Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle, Sekondi on February 15th, preach at an Ordination Service on February 16th at St. Marks Anglican Church Essikadu and on the 17th at All Saints Anglican Church, Takoradi and tour the diocese to get a sense of their needs. The group will return to the United States either February 22nd. Mark your calendar! Wednesday, February 27, 2008, instead of our midweek service, the church is invited to join All Saint’s Baldwin for a Quiet Day with the South Shore Senior Ministry Consortium; $15.00 covers the cost of the day, including lunch. Our church bus will leave here at 8:00 a.m. Please sign up. Fr. Miles will be the guest preacher at Janes’ United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 18th. The service will begin at 7:30 pm, preceded by supper from 6:00 pm. The Voices of Praise will accompany the Rector.
Our
Blessed Mother’s Soup Kitchen will serve lunch on the 1st and 3rd
Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 pm every month. The Community Breakfast will be served
on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays, from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.;
