Vision Statement of Episcopal Church Women
Adopted by the National Board
Episcopal Church Women - Diocese of Long Island
We are Episcopal Church Women, committed to one another and called to be
witnesses for Christ. Our challenge is to provide a safe place where every woman is free to
become the person Christ created her to be. We are called. We are different. We are one body.
What We Do
 | United Thank Offering - A joyful witness to Christ's presence within us
by sharing our blessings. A program of the Episcopal Church for the
mission of the whole Church, awarding grants on an annual cycle.
|
 | Church Periodical Club - A World-wide ministry of the printed word. This
national organization furnishes books and magazines to enable the work of the
church throughout the world, with a special emphasis on education.
|
 | Book of Remembrance - Maintained through donations as memorials to loved
ones, this fund is given to special diocesan, domestic and overseas projects
on a rotating basis.
|
 | Ministry in Action - This is an outreach to help those in need both near
and far, encompassing handiwork, service and contributions from the parishes,
formerly called Box Work.
|
 | Seamen's Church Institute - ECW supports this agency both monetarily and
by participating in the "Christmas-at-Sea" program, providing knitted hats,
scarves and sweaters for hundreds of seamen. |
